Amanda Randles, S.M. ’10 (computer science)NetBet Poker, Ph.D. ’13 (applied physics) has received the 2017 Grace Murray Hopper Award from the Association for Computing Machinery.

The award is presented annually to a young researcher for a major contribution to computation. Randles is being honored for developing NetBet Casinoa supercomputing model that captures details about the movement of red blood cells through the human arterial system.

Randles, currently an assistant professor of biomedical engineering at Duke University, studies NetBet Pokerbiomedical simulation and high performance computing to provide insight into the localization and development of human diseases.
