Rediet Abebe, S.M. ’16 (applied math), who was the first black woman to earn a computer science Ph.D. at Cornell University in 2019, was highlighted in the Cornell Chronicle.

The article discusses Abebe’s research on algorithms and AI, with a focus on equity and justice concerns.
